Deutsche Annington is backing Opel

• 166 Astra 1.4 TWINPORT ecoFLEX cars go to housing company
•  Handover at the Bochum factory

Bochum, 27 April 2009 – Official hand-over ceremony at the Opel factory in Bochum: Works manager, Uwe Fechtner, today handed over the first of a total of 166 Opel Astra 1.4 TWINPORT ecoFLEX cars to Dr. Michael Bütter, chief representative of Deutsche Annington Immobilien GmbH. In future, the field workers of Germany’s largest housing company will be driving to their appointments at 650 locations throughout Germany in the new Astras. All the vehicles have been ordered in light-silver. The Deutsche Annington logo still has to be put on the ones handed over today. "We took a close look at various manufacturers but in the end chose Opel because the cars are excellent value for money, and ultimately also as a sign of solidarity. In field work, the right appearance is very important. The overall impression is what the customers remember – and arriving in an Opel creates the just the right impression," says a delighted Dr. Bütter about the expansion of the vehicle fleet.

Works manager, Uwe Fechtner, also pointed out the economic advantages of the "lightning cars": "The 66 kW (90 bhp) ecoFLEX models offer unbeatable economy using just 6.1 litres over 100 kilometres, which means CO2 emissions are low, too. This is not only reflected in the low petrol costs. When the new road tax coming into force in July, it will be lower for these cars."

And the comfort of the field workers at their "workplace" has not been forgotten, either: In addition to the extensive standard fittings, an auxiliary heater with timer provides cosy heat when you get into the car in the winter. The built-in parking pilot and the navigation system make travelling and manoeuvring in towns much easier. And the cars also have a Bluetooth interface ready for connecting a phone so that the employees can always be reached.
