Deutsche Annington Opens Playground on Grund Street in Essen

Essen, September 1st, 2007 - Deutsche Annington Ruhr GmbH opened the newly constructed playground on Grund Street during the “Beisen” festival in Essen’s “Katernberg” city district. It took a mere two months to develop the 1,500 m² children’s playground, consisting of a climbing centre, seesaws, a slide and much more. In all, Deutsche Annington spent €80,000 on the kindergarten’s playground.

The new playground’s concept is based on innovative ideas from the City of Essen’s fitness studio. “As a significant purveyor of housing in the region, we are very pleased to be able to provide the children with creative activities,” stated Wilhelm Odendahl from Deutsche Annington Ruhr. Even Sigrid Schönberger, the City of Essen’s Children’s Representative, is quite content: “The new playground equipment is not just for fun, it is also good for your health. It trains your sense of equilibrium.”

Deutsche Annington Ruhr GmbH manages some 11,000 flats in Essen, of which some 2,300 are located in Essen’s “Katernberg” city district alone.
