Deutsche Annington Foundation Helps Tenants Following Apartment-Building Explosion
Bochum, March 12th, 2007 – Following an explosion in an apartment building in Kaiserslautern, Deutsche Annington Foundation is providing support for the affected tenants. The foundation has provided €17,000 in order to help tenants. Two additional applications for funding are under review. Six tenant parties lost their entire household and personal effects in the catastrophe. “It goes without saying that we will help our tenants in this situation. Particularly as most of them were not insured,” explained Oliver Schlink, Deputy Chairman of the Annington Foundation. “The foundation’s goal is to provide help in emergencies as well as to support intact neighbourhoods and the education of children and adolescents.”
The explosion, caused by a tenant in August 2006, rendered two apartment buildings uninhabitable. At that time, Deutsche Annington Immobilien Group immediately offered all tenants new flats. Four tenant parties made use of the offer and the others stayed with friends and family. The buildings will be demolished shortly.
